Native Plant Nursery Manager
We are looking for a Professional Grower to oversee our Nursery operations and farm upkeep.
Job Type: Full Time/Seasonal
Purpose:
The Nursery Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our native plant nursery, ensuring the health and productivity of our plant inventory, managing seasonal and temporary farm hands, and supporting ecological restoration projects through the provision and cultivation of high-quality native genetics. This role includes genetics selection, propagation, horticulture, inventory management, site planning/maintenance, and continuous process improvement to align with the company's goals in the Restoration sector.
Status: Reports to Operations Manager, Vice President
Location: Rockyview County
Duties and Responsibilities:
NURSERY OPERATIONS
- Manage propagation schedules for trees, shrubs, and herbaceous native species
- Oversee greenhouse and shade-house operations, including irrigation, pest management, and environmental controls
- Mitigate risk vectors for plant survival and respond effectively to environmental, pathogenic or pest activity
- Maintain accurate records of plant production, survival rates, and inventory levels
- Ensure proper care of container and field-grown stock year-round
- Develop and implement nursery work plans based on project needs
- Coordinate with Restoration Team to align nursery output with upcoming field work
- Supervise and train nursery staff and seasonal workers
- Oversee all incoming and outgoing client orders, communicate with suppliers as necessary.
- Monitor storage conditions and inventory of dormant stock
- Assist in setting nursery production targets and long-term plant availability forecasts
- Audit quality and count of all incoming and outgoing plant material
- Design and improve nursery layouts for efficiency and scalability
FARM MANAGEMENT
- Identify infrastructure or system improvements to enhance growing conditions and workflow
- Schedule Septic tank cleaning
- Assorted building maintenance
- Yard and land management (mowing, invasives management)
- Road work - calcium dust calming, pot hole filling, rain repairs
- Gate troubleshooting - reset SIM with key
ADMINISTRATION
- Ensure operational compliance with COR safety standards and local regulations
- Track equipment and material needs, and coordinate with procurement
- Conduct site tours and support educational/outreach efforts when required
- Attend planning meetings and contribute to restoration planning as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for native plants and ecological land management
- 2+ years of experience managing a commercial, native, or restoration-focused nursery an asset
- Proven ability to propagate native plants using seeds, cuttings and stakes
- Expert level taxonomy skills pertaining to regional native species
- A diploma or degree in Horticulture, Biology, or a related field preferred but not required
- Pesticide/Herbicide Applicators license an asset
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- Strong knowledge of plant pathology, pest management, and irrigation systems
- Familiarity with ecological restoration principles
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Skilled in team leadership and staff supervision
- Comfortable with outdoor work in variable weather and physical labor
- Class 5 Driver’s License; hauling experience an asset
Pay Level: [Level 3]

Irrigation Systems Supervisor
We are looking for an Irrigation Specialist to oversee our solar irrigation department.
Job Type: Full Time/Seasonal
Purpose:
The Irrigation Systems Supervisor will oversee preparation, maintenance, deployment, and demobilization of our proprietary solar irrigation systems to ensure plant survival and optimal growth on our project sites and nursery. They will manage the inventory of all irrigation components and supplies and provide leadership, training and supervision of restoration crews and farmhands during irrigation deployment on restoration projects.
Status: Reports to Project Manager/CEO
Location: Rockyview County, interprovincial deployment required
Duties and Responsibilities:
DEPLOYMENT AND MAINTENANCE
- Pre-season preparation of all irrigation systems to be deployed
- Design and Installation of irrigation systems at project site
- Testing and quality control of the systems
- Remote monitoring and technical support of systems after deployment
- Regularly monitor and maintain greenhouse irrigation systems ensuring continuous and reliable operation
- Document and report equipment failure, or theft
- Maintenance of filters, intakes, pump components and solar frames & panels
- Demobilization and sanitizing of systems post-season
- Support other teams with ecological restoration activities as needed
- Other duties as assigned by CEO
ADMINISTRATION
- Monitor inventory of systems, fittings, line, and other irrigation supplies to ensure that capacity is continually maintained for restoration project needs
- Participate in technical research and development of systems
- Coordinate with established subcontractors for support (UpWork, DeltaTee, Southern Irrigation)
LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION
- Organize, lead and participate in regular department meetings
- Provide training and oversight of restoration technicians on solar irrigation scopes
- Ensure that crews and subcontractors are compliant with safety and environmental regulations while on site
- Regularly complete Field Level Hazards Assessments PRIOR to entering a job site
- Report and record all safety incidents involving yourself, subcontractors or technicians
- Become familiar with all PPE requirements on each job site, regularly maintain and organize PPE and safety equipment
- Perform daily field logs
- Correspond with CEO and Operations Manager to ensure production rates and other progress metrics are being met
- Provide project feedback to Project Managers
- Respond to emails, text messages and phone calls in a timely fashion
- Perform Maintenance logs as necessary
- Review department financials yearly with team
OTHER DUTIES
- Transport materials and equipment to site as needed
- Ensure that provided vehicle is operated in a safe and respectful manner
- Correspond with Resource Manager when regular maintenance, cleaning and repairs are required on the provided vehicle
- Clean, organize and maintain tool condition. Report lost or damaged equipment and PPE to Equipment Manager
- Tool rentals, returns, purchase as necessary
- Keep up to date on relevant training
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years experience with irrigation system installation and maintenance
- Ability to manage multiple projects, inventory, and installations
- Backcountry driving experience
- Experienced with working outdoors in variable weather conditions
- Experience supervising small team-oriented crews

Restoration Crew Leader
We are looking for an experienced Crew Leader to manage our technical field crews on job sites across western Canada.
Job Type: Seasonal
Purpose:
The Restoration Crew Foreman will lead our ecological restoration teams, utilize plant material and soil bioengineering techniques to repair erosion, strengthen ecology, revegetate, and create habitat in riparian areas.
They will provide leadership, training and daily supervision of restoration crews on a variety of restoration, maintenance and bioengineering projects.
Status: Reports to Project Manager, Operations Manager, Resource Manager
Location: Rockyview County, interprovincial deployment required
Duties and Responsibilities:
INSTALLATION
- Collect and store live plant material
- Handle and install erosion/sediment control materials
- Install soil bioengineering elements
- Planting native vegetation (trees, plugs and shrubs) to spec
- Install/repair perimeter fencing
- Solar Irrigation system installation, maintenance and repair
- Pre-season preparation of irrigation systems and materials. Post-season takedown and processing of systems
- Prepare sites for planting
- Carry out maintenance and monitoring scopes as necessary
- Carry out other project requirements as per Crew Foreman/Project Manager
LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION
- Organize, lead and participate in regular department meetings
- Provide training, guidance and corrective action for your assigned Restoration crew
- Ensure that crews and subcontractors are compliant with safety and environmental policy
- Regularly complete Field Level Hazards Assessments PRIOR to entering a job site
- Report and record all safety incidents involving yourself, subcontractors or technicians
- Become familiar with all PPE requirements on each job site, regularly maintain and organize PPE and safety equipment

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years experience in landscaping, tree planting or forestry
- Minimum 2 seasons of experience supervising small team-oriented crews
- Leadership experience on industry sites an asset (minesite, oil and gas)
- Ecology or Horticultural credentials an asset
- High-quality plug planting skills
- Full availability for the contract duration
- Ability to work away from home for up to one month intervals
- Experience using and maintaining landscaping equipment and tooling
- Heavy equipment operation experience an asset (mini-ex, skid steer, tractor)
- Backcountry driving experience (Clean drivers abstract)
- Experience working outdoors in challenging weather

Restoration Technician
We are looking for technicians to join our restoration
team on field installations across western Canada.
Job Type: Seasonal
Purpose:
The Restoration Technician is responsible for carrying out our ecological restoration
scopes on site. Restoration Teams use plant material and soil bioengineering
techniques to repair erosion, strengthen, revegetate, and create habitat along
riverbanks. Restoration crews will also carry out Solar Irrigation, vegetation
maintenance and native plant nursery activities as necessary.
Status: Reports to Restoration Crew Foreman
Location: Rockyview County, interprovincial deployment required.

Purpose: The Support Technician is a temporary position responsible for carrying out construction and maintenance scopes on our ecological restoration projects.
Status: Reports to Crew Foreman/Project Manager
Location: Western Canada
Pay Level: Temporary Scale (Day Rate, Piece Rate, Hourly dependent on project)
Duties and Responsibilities:
FIELD DUTIES
- Efficiently plant seedlings, plugs and containers in specified areas according to the project’s guidelines and requirements, ensuring correct depth, spacing, and positioning.
- Planting as per ecological prescription under regulations and considerations of site specific conditions (national parks, resource sites [mining, oil], riparian areas).
- Ability to meet or exceed daily or weekly planting targets, working efficiently to ensure high productivity levels without compromising quality.
- Seedling handling and care
- Maintaining accurate planting records as necessary
- Load boxes, move equipment and assist in set up or take down of staging areas
- Deployment of erosion/sediment control materials
- Site maintenance tasks (invasive plant removal, clean up, seeding, etc…)
- Fencing or signage installation
- Other landscape labor tasks as required
OTHER DUTIES
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
- Arrive on site professionally and prepared for all of the days activities
- Comply with applicable federal, provincial, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures
- Compliance with all Leaf Ninjas and site specific safety plans/policies
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience tree planting, forestry, landscaping or other resource reclamation work
